About

Bob

My curiosity seems to lead me to many varied and interesting discoveries and it is never completely sated. I am Bob Lamberson and have lived, for the past 40 years, in western Montana, mostly on a fairly remote ranch. Quite often it is necessary to know about the functionality of all kinds of “stuff” just to get some small chore done, or survive the day. This lifestyle has led me through a lifetime of finding out what makes things tick and how to use that knowledge. I am constantly researching processes and things to quench my insatiable curiosity and I chronicle my most interesting tidbits in these pages. Professionally I have owned and operated businesses as a horseback outfitter and hunting guide, building contractor, computer network consultant, computer programmer, and now a web guy. My mind seems to know no boundary as to what to wonder about – chemistry, both human and elemental, machinery, science, [...] Conntinue »»

I was surprised because I didn’t know much about the history of oil discovery. Turns out that most of the first 50 years of oil discoveries, were in North America, not the Middle East or other far away places. And the first commercial oil well drilled in the United States was in northwest Pennsylvania , near Titusville.. Then the I read statement “We have more oil inside our borders , than all the other proven reserves on earth1″. Well, I have not verified or qualified that statement, but I sure have a lot of questions now, so I started looking into the history of oil discovery and where we are today. Oil started out being used for all kinds of things. Around 1410AD there are indications that [...] Conntinue »»
